The large number of different diets around today must make it pretty difficult to chose the right option when looking to lose weight and lose fat
Low carb, low fat, high protein, high fiber, cabbage soup, scarsdale, herbalife and hoodia, to name but a few.
They all have two things in common:
1. They claim to offer the solution to your weight problems. That you cannot possibly fail to lose fat whilst using their products. That the fat and extra weight will miraculously melt off enabling you to regain the body or physique you once had or had long wanted.
Oh, to be able to get into those sexy skinny jeans, to look good in your clothes. To lose that tummy bulge after having your child. To lose excess weight and fat, to help you regain that lost self belief in todays society where thin is king.
Maybe it is a matter of improving your health and well being or simply being able to flaunt a 6 pack.
2.They ultimately all fail spectacularly just like the snake oil salesmen of the old west they so resemble.
You may lose weight or lose fat in the short term. Enough encouragement for you to stay with the diet.
But once you come off the low carb or low fat diet, or whatever diet program you were on, and revert to your normal eating patterns. even with a few changes, the weight comes piling back. You even end up heavier and fatter than you were before.
The main cause of excessive weight gain, obesity and ill health in western societes lies in the nature of the food we eat.
We have turned food production into "mass factory farming"
Foods that were once nutritious have been refined, polished, artificially "enhanced" with various chemicals and preservatives.
Crops and grains are sprayed with various chemicals and even genetically modififed.
Livestock producing beef, pork, lamb, chicken, etc are pumped full of artificial hormones and antibiotics.
Packaged foods have excessive sugar content, even the so called low sugar healthy alternatives where the sugar is disguised by clever labelling. Sugar replacements like high fructose corn syrup and artficial sweeteners are certainly not healthier.
In short, our food is full of a cocktail of chemicals and toxins which clog up and disrupt the body's vital functions.
This slow poisioning overloads the body's eliminative organs like the kidneys and liver. The immune system is compromised.
The poorly functioning body retains fat, the toxin overload results in excessive water/fluid retention and various food intolerances and allergies which also increase the fluid retention and bloating.
The result is excessive weight gain, low energy levels, poor skin and a whole pile of other health problems.
The surefire way to lose fat, control your weight, and improve your health, is to learn how to ensure that the bulk of what you eat is healthy nutritious food in its natural state.
And healthy, nutritious food in its natural state does not have to be boring, bland, tasteless and unexciting.
There is a whole world of exciting, yummy, healthy foods out there for you to discover. You simply have to know where to look.
Then you can surely trash the low carb, low fat diets et al and you can actually have fun and enjoy eating your way to a great healthy weight as your toxin free body starts to function optimally and yes, watch the excess fat melt off.
