1. Go for thin crust pizza, always always always go thin crust! It reduces calories by the hundreds and sometimes even the thousands.

2. Stick to cheese as a pizza topping, not as a pizza filling, however tempting that cheezy crust is!
3. If you can go with low fat cheese, do it, it's just as tasty.

4.Low fat Mozzarella on a pizza is the best cheese of choice and the most traditional.

5.Always choose tomato based pizza sauce, stay away from creams.

6.Ask for extra veggies, sure go for your meat lovers pizza, but spend the extra quids on a few added vegetables.

7.If they offer a wholewheat base, that's the ticket, not only to better digestion but also to weight control. Wholewheat pizza contains more fibre and that's said to decrease the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

8.You can put fruit on a pizza - ham and pineapple anyone? But it doesn't end there, grapes and even pear taste so good with the right combinations - just ask your local pizza place.

9.Spinach - many say that dark leafy greens are the key to good health and even battle cancer. There's loads of spinach based pizzas available and don't worry, with the right sauce and comb ination of other pizza toppings, spinach tastes really good!

10.Add a side salad! Most pizza restaurants offer side dishes, so grab a salad. Not only will it help fill you and maybe lessen the need for that extra pizza slice but it will also give you an added intake of healthy veggies.

So you see, you don't have to give up tasty pizza even if you're on a diet, just make the right choices and if you can, share your order with a friend, that way you won't be tempted to trough the whole meaty veggie pizza by yourself.
